Work, Energy and Power is the 6th chapter in Physics of NCERT. Work, Energy & Power is a day to day word and used in almost every action of ours and hence Introduction starts from here under the chapter. Notions of Work and Kinetic Energy or we say The Work-Energy Theorem stats about states that the total work done by the sum of all the forces acting on a particle is equal to the change in the kinetic energy of that particle. This explanation can be extended to rigid bodies by describing the work of rotational kinetic energy and torque. Further we will study aspect and equations of Works & Kinetic Energy under their separate heads. A constant force is rare. It is the variable force, which is more commonly encountered and we will study the same in sub unit of Work done by a Variable Forces. Further we will study Work – Energy Theorem from aspect of Variable forces under The Work-Energy Theorem for a Variable Force. Afterwards we will study, The concept of Potential Energy, which states that Potential energy is the energy held by an object because of its position relative to other objects, stresses within itself, its electric charge, or other factors. Further, the principle of Conservation of Mechanical Energy states that if a body or system is subjected only to conservative forces, the mechanical energy of that body or system remains constant. After this , we will study The Potential Energy of a Spring  & Elasticity. Further, we will study about Various Forms of Energy like Heat, Electrical, nuclear etc. Often it is interesting to know not only the work done on an object, but also the rate at which this work is done. We say a person is physically fit if he not only climbs four floors of a building but climbs them fast. Power is defined as the time rate at which work is done or energy is transferred and we will study the same under the head of Power. At the end , we will study concept of Collision.
